A Prayer for Forgiveness
“Heavenly Father, I come before Thee with a humble heart, seeking Thy grace in the matter of forgiveness. Thou hast taught me that as I forgive those who have wronged me, so shall I receive Thy forgiveness. Help me to release the bitterness and hurt I carry, knowing that my own redemption depends upon my willingness to extend mercy to others. Give me a tender heart, Lord, filled with compassion and kindness toward those around me. When I am tempted to hold grudges or seek vengeance, remind me of how freely Thou hast forgiven me through Christ''s sacrifice. Help me to bear with one another in love, forbearing and forgiving even as Jesus forgave me. I confess that forgiveness is difficult, but I trust in Thy strength to transform my heart. Teach me to forgive not once, but continually, just as Christ forgave. Release me from the chains of unforgiveness that bind both me and those I struggle to forgive. May I grow in kindness and tenderhearted compassion, reflecting Thy love to all I encounter. Grant me the courage to forgive as I have been forgiven. Amen”
