A Prayer for Forgiveness
“O Lord, I come before Thee with a humble and contrite heart, acknowledging the weight of my sins and transgressions. I can hide them no longer from Thy sight, for Thou knowest all things. I confess the iniquities that have separated me from Thee, and I lay them bare before Thy throne of grace. Wash me thoroughly from all unrighteousness. Cleanse my soul from the stains of my wrongdoing, that I might be made white as snow. I cannot purify myself, but Thou art mighty to save and able to restore what sin has broken. Thou art good, O Lord, and ready to forgive all who call upon Thee. Thy mercy is abundant and endless, poured out lavishly upon those who repent. I trust not in my own worthiness, but in Thy great compassion and loving-kindness. Grant me a renewed spirit, O God. Help me to walk in righteousness and turn from the paths of transgression. Let Thy forgiveness bring me peace and restore the joy of my salvation. I surrender all to Thee, knowing that Thou art faithful and just to forgive. Amen.”
